Viability of sex-offender law in doubt (Nation)
Law enforcement leaders were pushing to have all convicted sex offenders tracked through a GPS system, that can record their location at all times. This would hopefully stop future cases from occurring with the same person. It would allow police to track the sex offenders and keep them away from areas where children would possibly be. The only problem is the whole process would be very expensive. I have mixed opinions on whether or not they should try and get this enforced. The sex offenders have already paid the price for their actions and shouldn’t necessarily be tagged with a trafficking device that lets everyone know of their past. On the other hand I feel safety of our children is the number one priority and if this GPS system keeps sex offenders away from children, then it should definitely be enforced.
